159th QUEEN’S PLATE TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON HRRN SATURDAY
Coverage Presented by Hill n’ Dale Farms airs Nationwide on SiriusXM 93
 
Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY and official radio home of the U.S. Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, announced Thursday, they will return to Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto for the third consecutive year to provide live on-site coverage of the 159th running of the Queen’s Plate, the first jewel in Canada’s Triple Crown.
 
Coverage of “The Gallop for the Guineas” is presented by Hill n’ Dale Farms and begins at 4:00 p.m. ET on SiriusXM channel 93 with live streaming provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.
 
HRRN’s Mike Penna anchors the coverage alongside retired Canadian Classic winning jockey Gerry Olguin. Acacia Courtney will provide trackside reports and interviews, with Woodbine announcer Robert Geller handling the race calls.
 
In addition to the Queen’s Plate, the broadcast features $175,000 Dance Smartly (G2) for fillies and mares going a mile and a quarter on the grass and the $250,000 Highlander (G1), a ‘Win and You’re In” event for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. Saturday afternoon’s classic event, the $1 million Queen’s Plate, rounds out the coverage with a scheduled post time of 5:36 p.m. ET.
 
In addition, HRRN will host a special Queen’s Plate edition of their popular weekly talk show, the Equine Forum, live from Woodbine on Saturday morning from 8:00-10:00 a.m. ET. Saturday’s guests include Hill n’ Dale Farms President John Sikura, Woodbine CEO Jim Lawson, Sam-Son Farm President Rick Balaz and Canadian Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse.
 
The Equine Forum, presented by Woodbine Entertainment, airs nationwide on Sirius 219/XM 201 along with terrestrial affiliates across the country and is streamed live and podcast on the HRRN website.
