HRRN ANNOUNCES KENTUCKY OAKS (G1) AND KENTUCKY DERBY (G1) BROADCAST SCHEDULE
 
Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY and official radio home of the 2017 Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, all week long to provide extensive coverage of the Kentucky Oaks (G1) and Kentucky Derby (G1). HRRN’s Mike Penna will anchor the Derby coverage along with Hall of Fame trainer John Veitch, and analysts Jude Feld, Jeff Bloom, Tom Leach and Dan Mason. NBC’s Rob Simmelkjaer will provide interviews from the Red Carpet.
 
The first of three “Derby Countdown” shows presented by Jimmy John’s of Lexington, will kick off Tuesday, May 2 with interviews from many of the major players in the Oaks and Derby and up to the minute training reports. “Derby Countdown” will be aired from 8-10 AM ET on WLXO 96.1 in Lexington and streamed live on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net on Wednesday, May 3 and Thursday, May 4 as well.
 
Tuesday evening, The Kentucky Derby Trainers Dinner will be streamed live, courtesy of the KTA/KTOB, beginning at 7:30 PM ET. It’s a fun evening of information, revelry and humor with several Kentucky Derby trainers speaking about their entrants. It can be found on www.horseracingradio.net.
 
On Wednesday, May 3, the Kentucky Derby Post Draw Show, presented by Twinspires.com airs on Sirius 219/XM 206 from 11:00 AM to Noon ET. Produced in partnership with Steve Byk’s At the Races program, the show will be co-hosted by Byk and HRRN’s Mike Penna with Jeff Bloom interviewing connections and Jude Feld providing commentary and analysis of the draw.
 
Friday, May 5, Kentucky Oaks (G1) coverage, presented by Twinspires.com airs from 3-6 PM ET on Sirius 219/XM 206 with several graded undercard stakes on the docket as well. The show will be followed from 6-7 PM ET by the popular NYRA Bets Weekend Stakes Preview, when Anthony Stabile and Jude Feld will discuss their selections for Saturday’s Belmont Park and Churchill Downs stakes as well as the Kentucky Derby (G1). Both shows will also be streamed on www.horseracingradio.net.
 
Kentucky Derby (G1) day, Saturday, May 5, kicks off with “the show that launched the network,” the Equine Forum, in its weekly time slot 8-10 AM ET on Sirius 219/XM 206 and streaming on www.horseracingradio.net. Kentucky Derby undercard coverage, presented by Twinspires.com takes place from 2-5 PM ET and will be heard on Sirius/XM 93. The Kentucky Derby (G1) broadcast, produced in partnership with NBC Sports and Westwood One, airs 5:00-7:30 PM ET, also on Sirius/XM 93 and terrestrial affiliates around the country.
