149th TRAVERS STAKES TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON HRRN SATURDAY

Coverage Presented by Visitbarbados.org, Red Brand Fence and Breeders’ Cup

Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, Kentucky and official radio home of the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, announced Thursday, they will return to Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, NY to provide exclusive radio coverage of the 149th running of the $1.25 million Runhappy Travers Stakes presented by NYRA Bets (G1).

HRRN’s broadcast is slated for 3:00–6:00 p.m. ET and is presented by visitbarbados.org, Red Brand Fence and Breeders’ Cup. Listeners can tune in nationwide on SiriusXM 93 along with terrestrial affiliates in Albany, NY and Louisville, KY. Live internet streaming will also be available on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.

The 3-hour broadcast of the “Mid-Summer Derby” will include coverage of three Grade 1 races on the Travers undercard; the $500,000 Ballerina, the $600,000 Forego and the $1,000,000 Sword Dancer. Two additional Grade 1 events, the $500,000 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial presented by Runhappy and the $700,000 Personal Ensign, will be aired on taped delay. The Ballerina, Forego, Sword Dancer and Personal Ensign are Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” events. Saturday afternoon’s classic event, the $1.25 million Runhappy Travers (G1) has a scheduled post time of 5:44 PM ET.

Mike Penna will anchor the broadcast alongside analysts Jude Feld and Anthony Stabile with Acacia Courtney providing trackside reports and interviews. Saratoga and NBC track announcer Larry Collmus will provide the live call of each race.

HRRN begins their Travers day coverage Saturday morning with a special edition of their popular weekly talk show, the Equine Forum presented by Red Brand Fence. Penna and Feld will host the Equine Forum live from Saratoga with special guests to preview the day’s stakes races.

Listeners can tune in to the Equine Forum from 8-10 a.m. ET nationwide on Sirius 219/XM 201 along with terrestrial affiliates across the country and is streamed live and podcast on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.
