HRRN PRESENTS A SPECIAL ‘MARYLAND HORSE WEEK' CELEBRATING THE RICH HISTORY OF THE MARYLAND THOROUGHBRED INDUSTRY
Week-long celebration begins Tuesday, May 16
LEXINGTON, KY (May 15, 2023) – Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced today they will pay tribute to the rich history and tradition of the Maryland thoroughbred industry with a special ‘Maryland Horse Week’ presented by the Maryland Horse Breeders Association.
Beginning Tuesday, May 16, HRRN will recognize the achievements of top Maryland-bred horses on shows throughout Preakness week with replays of memorable wins along with interviews and conversations focused on the grand history and tradition of the Maryland thoroughbred industry. HRRN’s social media pages, email newsletters and website will also offer special content throughout the week.
“Maryland has a storied racing history,” said HRRN president Mike Penna. “With notable superstars such as Broad Brush, Safely Kept, Concern, Cigar, Ben’s Cat and Knicks Go, Maryland-bred horses have always found themselves in the spotlight on racing’s biggest stages.”
“As Maryland is in the Preakness spotlight once again we want to make sure to showcase the broad reach of horses here. From our new Maryland Horse Library and Education Center to Fair Hill Training Center and Event Zone,” Says Cricket Goodall, executive director of Maryland Horse Breeders Association, “Joining with HRRN for Maryland Horse Week will highlight the importance of the horse industry to Maryland.”
‘Maryland Horse Week’ concludes Saturday, May 20, with a special Preakness Stakes edition of the network’s popular Equine Forum Show presented by TwinSpires.
