HRRN AND VIRGINIA EQUINE ALLIANCE PRESENT ‘VIRGINIA THOROUGHBRED WEEK’ MARCH 9-14
LEXINGTON, KY (March 9, 2026) – Beginning Monday, March 9, HRRN will celebrate the illustrious history of the Virginia thoroughbred industry as the Virginia Equine Alliance presents a special ‘Virginia Thoroughbred Week’ on the Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN). Throughout the week leading up to Saturday’s $500,000 Virginia Derby, the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, Kentucky, will feature interviews with numerous guests to shine the spotlight on the Virginia racing and breeding programs while recognizing the achievements of past and current Virginia-bred horses with replays of memorable wins featured on all HRRN shows throughout the week as well as on the network’s social media pages.
Guests scheduled to appear during ‘Virginia Thoroughbred Week’ include Viriginia Thoroughbred Alliance President Turner Kobayashi, Vice President Andrew Motion, Virginia Derby announcer Travis Stone along with a variety of VTA awards recipients.
‘Virginia Thoroughbred Week’ concludes March 14 with a Virginia Derby day edition of HRRN’s popular Saturday morning Equine Forum show which airs weekly from 8:00-11:00 a.m. Eastern.
HRRN shows can be heard across North America on Sirius 162/XM 207 with live streaming and podcasts made available on the network’s website, www.horseracingradio.net, along with multiple podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart and Podbean.
