HRRN AND KEENELAND SALES TO PRESENT ‘TAPIT TRICE WEEK’ AHEAD OF SATURDAY’S TOYOTA BLUE GRASS STAKES
Weeklong Celebration of 2023 Blue Grass Winner Begins Monday, March 30
LEXINGTON, KY (March 29, 2026) – Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced today they will pay homage to the achievements of 2023 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) winner Tapit Trice. The special week begins Monday, March 30 and will conclude Saturday, April 4 with the 102nd renewal of the Blue Grass Stakes.
Throughout ‘Tapit Trice Week’ presented by Keeneland Sales, HRRN will feature special content across their platform of weekly shows, as well as on the network’s social media pages, website and e-newsletters. Listeners will enjoy replays of the biggest wins in the career of Tapit Trice along with interviews and conversations looking back on his racing career.

Consigned by Gainesway, the son of Tapit was purchased for $1.3 million by Mandy Pope’s Whisper Hill Farm at the 2021 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. Campaigned by Whisper Hill Farm and Antony Beck’s Gainesway Stable, Tapit Trice won 6 of 13 starts with earnings over $1.8 million. In addition to his victory in the Grade 1 Toyota Blue Grass, he captured the Tampa Bay Derby (G3), Monmouth Cup Stakes (G3), and Woodward Stakes (G2), with third place efforts in both the Belmont Stakes (G1) and Travers (G1).
Trained by Hall of Fame conditioner Todd Pletcher, Tapit Trice retired to stud at Gainesway in 2025, standing for a fee of $10,000 live foal/stands and nurses.
